Report on renewal of registration of Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE)

On 5 March 2025, TEQSA:

• renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly Melbourne Institute of TAFE) as an Institute of Higher Education, for a period of 7 years until 5 March 2032.
• revoked, under section 32 of the TEQSA Act, the 3 Conditions imposed on the registration of Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly Melbourne Institute of TAFE).

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly Melbourne Institute of TAFE) continues to meet the applicable Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.
