ESOS conditions 13 December 2024

Report of conditions varied on the CRICOS registration of Acknowledge Education Pty Ltd (Acknowledge)

On 13 December 2024, TEQSA, under section 10B of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act), varied two conditions on the CRICOS registration of Acknowledge Education Pty Ltd (Acknowledge):

strong>Condition 1: Overseas student enrolments

The maximum number of overseas students that Acknowledge may provide a course to at 647 Wellington Street, Perth WA 6000 may not exceed the following limits:

  1. 1,102 higher education overseas students, and
  2. 1,800 overseas students in total

Condition 3: Staffing, student numbers and support

By 28 February 2025 and 30 June 2025, Acknowledge must provide to TEQSA a report on staffing, student numbers and student support at 647 Wellington Street, Perth WA 6000. The report should outline the strategies adopted by Acknowledge to reduce its high student staff ratio (SSR) and how it assures itself that these strategies are effective in addressing the SSR concerns, and include:

  1. the current number of higher education students studying at the location and projections for the following semester
  2. details of the academic staff at the location for the current and following semester; including their names, highest level of educational achievement and field, and a breakdown of roles and FTE ratios
  3. the non-academic staff at the location for the current and following semester, including a breakdown of roles and FTE ratios
  4. the number of current higher education students studying the Bachelor of Community Services who have and have not successfully secured a placement in the current semester. For students without a placement, include details of the academic and support services available to those students to enable them to meet the course and professional accreditation requirements within the minimum course duration.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in light of the risks that Acknowledge Pty Ltd (Acknowledge) may not meet, or continue to meet, the requirements of Standards 1, 6, 8 and 11.2 of the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
