Report on application for accreditation of higher education course of study by Academy of Information Technology Pty Ltd
On 9 August 2022, a delegate of TEQSA rejected, under section 49 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the application by Academy of Information Technology Pty Ltd (AIT) for accreditation of the following course:
- Diploma of Web Development
Main reasons for the decision
TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was not satisfied that the course submitted by Academy of Information Technology Pty Ltd (AIT) complies with the following provisions of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021:
- Standard 6.3.2 in relation to requirements for effective academic oversight of the policy framework for design and approval of higher education courses of study in the 'boot camp' mode.
- Standards 5.1.2 and 5.1.3 relating to AIT's academic governance processes for course approval of the proposed course of study.
- Standards 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.4, 1.3.3 and 1.4.3 in relation to AIT's design of the proposed course of study and methods of assessment to enable achievement of expected learning outcomes.
- Standard 1.1.1 in relation to ensuring that admitted students have the academic preparation needed to participate in their study program.
