Initial registration

Report on initial registration of Central Institute of Technology

TEQSA has determined, under Section 21(1) of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (the TEQSA Act), that registration of Central Institute of Technology as a higher education provider be granted for a period of seven years to 26 June 2021 in the provider category of 'Higher Education Provider'.

TEQSA has determined, under Sections 49(1) and 49(6) of the TEQSA Act, to grant accreditation of the following higher education course of study offered by Central Institute of Technology until 26 June 2021:

• Diploma of Commerce

Background to Decision

Central Institute of Technology submitted an application for registration in the category of 'Higher Education Provider' under Part 3 of the TEQSA Act. Section 25 of the TEQSA Act requires a registered higher education provider to offer at least one accredited course. The application process included consideration of an application for accreditation of higher education courses of study, under Part 4 of the TEQSA Act.

Main Reasons for Decision

As part of the initial registration process, TEQSA has assessed the registration and course accreditation for the Diploma of Commerce submitted by Central Institute of Technology against the Threshold Standards for Provider Registration and Course Accreditation.

Central Institute of Technology has demonstrated to TEQSA that it meets the Threshold Standards.

The registration and course accreditation covers delivery at all Australian sites.
