Report on registration of Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd

On 13 December 2017 TEQSA:

  • granted, under section 21 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the application by Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd for registration in the category of Higher Education Provider, for a period of five years until 13 December 2022.
  • accredited, under section 49 of the TEQSA Act, the following courses offered by Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd for a period of five years until 13 December 2022:

    - Diploma in Business

    - Diploma in Information and Communications Technology.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made these decisions on the basis that it was satisfied that Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd meets the Provider Registration Standards and Provider Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework(Threshold Standards) 2011.

The period for which an applicant is registered by TEQSA cannot exceed seven years.

TEQSA considered that a five year period of registration was appropriate in light of a number of inherent risks associated with applicants of initial registration, as described in TEQSA's Initial Provider Registrations Policy, which were taken into account in assessing Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd's application.

TEQSA's assessment considered Western Sydney University International College Pty Ltd's arrangements for delivery at all Australian sites.
