Renewal of registration

Report on renewal of registration of the University of the Sunshine Coast

On 13 May 2020, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of the University of the Sunshine Coast in the category of Australian University, for a period of seven years until 13 May 2027.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that that University of the Sunshine Coast continues to meet the Provider Registration and Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

TEQSA found that the University of the Sunshine Coast has demonstrated:

  1. strong governance and accountability through robust structures and processes to attend to functions diligently and effectively
  2. a sound commitment to maintaining academic and research integrity at every level of governance, enacted through a comprehensive suite of policies, procedures, educational resources and interventions
  3. robust risk identification and mitigation through analysis of student performance data analysis, and
  4. strong regional engagement, enacted through its business innovation centre and strategic goal to be a primary engine of capacity building for the region.
