Report on renewal of accreditation of one higher education course of study offered by Montessori World Educational Institute (Australia) Inc
On 04 December 2018, a delegate of TEQSA:
- Renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following course offered by Montessori World Educational Institute (Australia) Inc, for a period of seven years until 04 December 2025:
- Diploma of Early Childhood and Primary Education (Montessori)
- Imposed, under section 53 of the TEQSA Act, one condition on the accreditation of the Diploma of Early Childhood and Primary Education (Montessori).
Condition 1: External referencing
By 30 June 2020 Montessori World Educational Institute (Australia) Inc must provide to TEQSA evidence that external referencing as required by the HES Framework 2015 has been undertaken, the external comparators against which the referencing was performed and how this has informed course design, learning outcomes and review processes.
External referencing requirements are addressed in the relevant Guidance Note available on the TEQSA website.
Main reasons for the decision
TEQSA made these decisions in light of risks that Montessori World Educational Institute (Australia) Inc may not meet, or continue to meet, the following provisions of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015:
- Sections 1.4, 3.1, 5.3.4 of Part A, in relation to:
- External referencing
- Learning outcomes and assessment
- Course design, review and improvement
