Renewal of course accreditation

Report on renewal of accreditation of two higher education courses of study offered by JMC Pty. Limited

On 12 February 2021, a delegate of TEQSA renewed, under section 56 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by JMC Pty. Limited, for a period of seven years until 12 February 2028:

• Bachelor of Music [formerly Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Performance)]
• Diploma of Music [formerly Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Performance)].

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made these decisions on the basis that it was satisfied that the courses submitted by JMC Pty. Limited for renewal of accreditation continue to meet the Provider Course Accreditation Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015.

In making these decisions, TEQSA considers that there is a risk that JMC Pty. Limited may not continue to meet the requirements of Section 3.2 of the Threshold Standards in relation to the extent to which staff are appropriately qualified and equipped for their roles.

TEQSA considers that the condition in relation to staffing imposed on the registration of JMC Pty. Limited on 10 February 2021 is sufficient to mitigate this risk. The condition is been detailed in the Public Report on the renewal of registration of JMC Pty. Limited.
