Impose Conditions on course accreditation
Report on accreditation of two higher education course of study offered by Engineering Institute of Technology Pty Ltd (EIT)
A delegate of TEQSA has imposed, under section 53(1) of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Act 2011 (the TEQSA Act), the following conditions on the accreditation of the following higher education courses of study offered by EIT:
- Master of Engineering (Industrial Automation)
- Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Industrial Automation)
Condition 1:
Prior to delivery in on-campus mode EIT must provide:
a) position descriptions for the new on-campus academic staff positions
b) a full cv, including teaching experience and recent scholarship for any new on-campus academic staff
c) the staffing profile for on-campus delivery of the accredited courses with details of unit coordinators (or equivalent) and their roles and responsibilities
Condition 2:
For each year of the current period of accreditation, EIT must provide an annual course report which includes its Board of Studies report on moderation and EIT's analysis of student performance data by mode of study.
The course accreditation covers delivery at all Australian sites.
Main Reasons for the Decision
TEQSA considers that the decision to apply conditions to EIT's accreditation of two courses of study is consistent with the basic principles for regulation in Part 2 of the TEQSA Act, as EIT is at risk of not complying with a number of the Threshold Standards. TEQSA considers that the risks of non-compliance with the Threshold Standards involve a number of matters that may affect EIT's capacity to manage and deliver its higher education awards.
