On 31 August 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Macleay College Pty Limited:
- Bachelor of Business from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
- Bachelor of Journalism from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
- Diploma of Business Management from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
- Diploma of Marketing from 30 August 2020 to 30 December 2021
- Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from 8 September 2021 to 30 December 2021
- Diploma of Journalism from 11 September 2021 to 30 December 2021
- Graduate Certificate of Future Journalism from 8 September 2021 to 8 September 2024
- Bachelor of Advertising & Media from 20 July 2022 to 20 July 2025
Main reasons for the decision
TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
