On 29 July 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Queensland Institute of Business & Technology Pty Ltd
- Associate Degree in Commerce and Business from 31 July 2021 to 31 July 2024
- Diploma of Commerce from 22 November 2020 to 22 November 2023
- Diploma of Engineering from 31 July 2021 to 31 July 2024
- Diploma of Design from 27 October 2022 to 27 October 2025
- Diploma of Hotel Management from 22 January 2021 to 22 January 2024
- Diploma of Criminology and Criminal Justice from 22 January 2021 to 22 January 2024
Main reasons for the decision
TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
