Report on extension of accreditation of three higher education courses of study offered by Governance Institute of Australia Ltd
On 29 April 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Governance Institute Australia Ltd:
- Graduate Certificate of Applied Risk Management from 21 August 2021 to 31 December 2022
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from 21 May 2021 to 31 December 2022
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Risk Management and Corporate Governance from 21 August 2021 to 31 December 2022
These extensions are made to facilitate teach out. No further enrolment of students will be permitted.
Main reasons for the decision
TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
