Extension of accreditation period

Report on extension of accreditation of four higher education courses of study offered by Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology Pty Ltd

On 17 August 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology Pty Ltd:

• Diploma of Business from 22 November 2020 to 22 November 2023
• Diploma of Engineering from 22 November 2020 to 22 November 2023
• Diploma of Science from 22 November 2020 to 22 November 2023
• Diploma of Commerce from 1 August 2020 to 1 August 2023

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
