Report on extension of accreditation of eight higher education courses of study offered by Engineering Institute of Technology Pty Ltd

On 16 July 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Engineering Institute of Technology Pty Ltd:

  • Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Electrical and Instrumentation in Oil and Gas) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Industrial Automation) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Mechanical) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Safety, Risk and Reliability) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Master of Engineering (Electrical and Instrumentation in Oil and Gas) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Master of Engineering (Industrial Automation) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Master of Engineering (Mechanical) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024
  • Master of Engineering (Safety, Risk and Reliability) from 26 June 2021 to 26 June 2024

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
