Report on extension of accreditation of five higher education courses of study offered by Sydney Institute of Business and Technology Pty Ltd

On 16 July 2020, a delegate of TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by Sydney Institute of Business and Technology Pty Ltd:

  • Diploma of Arts from 22 May 2021 to 22 May 2024
  • Diploma of Business Administration from 22 May 2021 to 22 May 2024
  • Diploma of Commerce from 22 May 2021 to 22 May 2024
  • Diploma of Information Technology from 22 May 2021 to 22 May 2024
  • Diploma of Media and Communication from 22 May 2021 to 22 May 2024

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision in order to reduce the administrative burden of regulation for the provider in response to COVID-19 and its impact on the higher education sector. This decision is consistent with the principles set out in TEQSA's policy on extensions to the period of provider registration or course accreditation, including an assessment of risks associated with the extension.
