Extension of accreditation period

Report on extension of accreditation of two higher education courses of study offered by the Canberra Institute of Technology

On 11 December 2019, TEQSA extended, under section 57A of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the accreditation of the following courses offered by the Canberra Institute of Technology until 28 November 2023:

  • Bachelor of Forensic Science (Crime Scene Examination)
  • Bachelor of Games and Virtual Worlds (Programming)

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made the decision to extend the periods of course accreditation to enable the teach out of the Canberra Institute of Technology's higher education courses. The provider does not intend to seek renewal of course accreditation when the current periods of accreditation expire. TEQSA is satisfied the Canberra Institute of Technology has the appropriate planning and resources in place to support students throughout the extended periods of course accreditation.
