Report on renewal of registration of the University of Technology Sydney

On 13 December 2023, TEQSA renewed, under section 36 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act), the registration of the University of Technology (UTS) in the category of an Australian University, for a period of seven years until 13 December 2030.

Main reasons for the decision

TEQSA made this decision on the basis that it was satisfied that the University of Technology Sydney continues to meet the applicable Standards of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.

TEQSA found that the University of Technology Sydney has demonstrated:

• a firm institutional commitment to building and supporting its culture of scholarship
• robust quality assurance processes
• strong academic and governance oversight and leadership
• extensive benchmarking and input from external academic sources, and
• an ongoing commitment to targeted support that is appropriate to the varying needs of its students.
