Universities Australia launches 24/7 student support line
Starting today and running until 30 November 2017, Universities Australia has launched a 24/7 support line for students affected by sexual assault and harassment.
As part of the Respect. Now. Always. campaign, the counselling line aims to ensure that student victims and survivors of sexual assault can access round-the-clock specialist support.
With the launch of the first national university student survey on sexual assault and harassment to be launched tomorrow (1 August 2017), the support line aims to provide assistance to the possible greater number of students seeking counselling and support.
Students in need of assistance can call 1800 572 224, 24/7 until 30 November 2017.
Details on where students can access counselling support at their university can be found at University Australia’s Where to Seek Support at your University webpage.
