TEQSA signs MoU with ACPET
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET).
ACPET is the peak body representing the private tertiary education and training sector in Australia.
The Memorandum of Understanding will allow for greater collaboration and sharing of information between the two organisations.
TEQSA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Anthony McClaran, said the signing further strengthened the existing relationship between the two organisations.
“I am very pleased to formalise our relationship with ACPET as we have shared interests in ensuring the quality of the Australian higher education sector and protection of students,” Mc McClaran said.
“ACPET is an important representative in the higher education sector and the exchange of information is central to our role.”
ACPET Chief Executive Officer, Mr Rod Camm, said the signing would allow both to better support Australia’s 129 non university higher education providers and deliver better outcomes for students.
“This MoU is about helping TEQSA understand the context facing private higher education providers, and helping ACPET to better support members in terms of policy changes, regulatory issues and other matters.”
“I’m delighted at the opportunity to formalise this arrangement, working closely with TEQSA will mean great outcomes for the sector and I am sure many opportunities will cascade from this.”
