TEQSA is excited to host international delegates from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement (NIAD-QE) in Tokyo, Japan.
Mr Shinichi Cho, Assistant Professor, Research Department NIAD-QE, Ms Yukiko Shibata, Program Coordinator, University Evaluation Support Division NIAD-QE and Mr Hideto Yamazaki, Program Coordinator, International Affairs Division NIAD-QE are visiting TEQSA from 6-10 February 2017.
In a first for TEQSA, the staff exchange between NIAD-QE and TEQSA encourages a sharing of ideas and best practice, and opportunities to discuss current issues and emerging trends in higher education in Japan and Australia.
In their week-long visit, the NIAD-QE delegates will receive a welcome tour and presentation overview of TEQSA. They’ll also meet with TEQSA Commissioners, CEO, and Senior Management Team in an informal morning tea.
During their visit, the delegates will also receive an update on the new Higher Education Standards Framework, transnational education and information about TEQSA’s collaboration activities between other agencies.
Other highlights of the exchange include site visits to Swinburne University of Technology (including Swinburne Online) and Holmesglen Institute where delegates will receive campus tours, information sessions on the student experience, Quality Assurance, accreditation, Policy and Process and Academic Governance and Compliance. A site visit to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to learn about ASQA’s approach to regulation is also scheduled.
At the end of their stay, NIAD-QE delegates will present an overview of Japan’s higher education systems to TEQSA, including a NIAD-QE profile and evaluation scheme.
TEQSA welcomes the NIAD-QE delegates and the opportunity to share information and resources as part of the staff exchange.
