TEQSA and NEAS share vision for quality education and sign MoU
The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS).
NEAS provides quality assurance monitoring and accreditation of English language teaching providers with more than 200 ELT centres across Australia, South East Asia and the Middle East.
TEQSA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Anthony McClaran, said the signing recognised the commitment the two organisations have to quality education and ongoing improvement.
“I am delighted at the opportunity to formalise this arrangement with NEAS as it builds on our shared vision for quality education,” Mr McClaran said.
NEAS Chief Executive Officer, Mr Patrick Pheasant, said the signing acknowledged an important framework for cooperation between TEQSA and NEAS, allowing for the important exchange of information and materials.
“Agreements such as this strengthen the recognition and value of NEAS and the 225 NEAS Quality Endorsed Centres worldwide,” Mr Pheasant said.
“As a quality assurance scheme with close, ongoing relationship with providers, NEAS can also provide valuable information about the industry and systemic risks to quality English language training to TEQSA.”
“Our commitment to quality in the English language teaching sector supports and enhances a quality teaching and learning experience for more than 3000 teachers and 20,000 students.”
